In this fresh webinar, Rob Rowsell reviews Chapter 2 of his best selling motivational book Addicted To Life. The chapter theme is “Get Uncomfortable and Take Action”. That turning point led him to the next step, taking action to escape to a new life, living for God and working hard to succeed.
Motivational Book Chapter Review Continued
Rob also discusses the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey. Rob and many other successful business owners read this book annually. Learn about the concept of Advantage with a capital “A”. Then learn about how you can take action in order to achieve transformation. What about asking the question “When is enough enough”? Is that really a healthy thinking pattern? Other topics include the curved road, humility photos, bulldogs, and becoming the head of the pack in your marketplace. "Addicted to Life" Chapter 8 Review - You Won’t Do it Alone!
Do you think that you are a self-made success? You’ve achieve anything in life alone, with no help? Sorry to disappoint, but you are sorely confused! Be humble enough to ask for help, and hire yourself a coach who specializes in your field! In this final chapter discussion of his book Addicted to Life!, Rob talks about the concept of “the Flimsy Reed”. Remember, success, no matter what the form it takes, is always a team sport!
Nobody Is A Self-made Success! You Can’t Achieve Alone.
Before becoming a success in the real estate industry, many people around Rob dismissed him as just another hopeless case. He had abused the trust of friends and family for years. The steps he took to get out of that life were definitely not self-made. Many gracious people, starting with his wife and his parole officer, helped him to escape drug and alcohol addiction. When Rob was first going through the Alcoholics Anonymous program, he heard this phrase:
What at first appeared a flimsy reed has proved to be the loving and powerful hand of God.
When we look back and are honest with ourselves, we can see our life events with more clarity. Many occurances in our lives that seemed insignificant or coincidental were actually tiny moving parts in God’s well made plan. At the time, though, we were not equipped with the hindsight we needed in order to see them for what they were.
Friends Who Made Rob’s Success Possible
Rob continues, detailing events and people who made his success possible. For example, Jake Garcia was an old friend who Rob was moved to call one day. It turned out that Rob was exactly who Jake needed to hear from that day. Jake confessed that his life was a mess, and Rob soon realized that God ordained for this call to take place. Rob rushed to his house to save him from the brink of death. Over the following years, Jake kicked drugs and followed in Rob’s footsteps to a successful real estate investment career. Rob and Jake have become partners, coaching each other to new heights, all because of God leading Rob to make that call.
Marty Cox also helped Rob’s journey of spiritual growth. His aunt Anita attended Sunday School with Rob. Like Rob in previous years, Marty was living on the streets and addicted to drugs. Rob assured Anita to have faith, because if Rob could overcome these obstacles, anyone could. When Rob finally met him, he committed to sponsor Marty. Taking action and trusting God, his life came together and he is 15 years sober today.
As mentioned before, Richard Broadwater was Rob’s old boss. He mentored Rob, making it possible for him to buy his first auto repair business. Rob built onto that success, purchasing more locations, and eventually cashed out to focus on real estate. The rest is history, but it couldn’t have happened without Richard believing in Rob and giving him a hand.
Your Employees Are Your Lifeline!
Although they can frustrate you sometimes, your employees are the lifeline of your business. This is especially true when you own multiple businesses all over the country like Rob does. So make sure that you mentor them and treat them well! If you have a chance to bless their lives, take it. You never know how much of a difference that you might make in their success journey.
You Can’t Be A Self-made Success: Rob’s Coaches
It is easy to look at Rob’s many achievements and not think about the roles others have played in helping him succeed. In this chapter of the video, he introduces us to a few of the mentors who have helped him transform his life. Not all of them may be household names, but every one of them has played a pivotal role in Rob’s success.
First 0ff, he lists his first real estate coach, Mark Ray. Mark made it possible for Rob and his wife Claudia to lay the foundation for their property investment company. After overcoming his addictions, Rob also prioritized his health. Joe Vanderbilt is a gentle giant who helped Rob to get his body in shape. Joe is too humble to tell you he is one of the world’s best trainers, but Rob’s results are proof!
Rob wants everyone to know that success can take many forms. It’s a holistic concept. At times during his life, Rob has consulted with many wise helpers to improve his health, family, and business pursuits. You would be wise too to follow this example. Remember, there are no self-made successes, and it’s up to us to seek out those who can help us reach our goals. When we do find success, it’s up to us to pay it forward as well! Sharing your knowledge to help others will never return void to you!

"Addicted to Life" Chapter 7 Review - You Must Understand the Law of Exposure!
In this fresh webinar, Rob reviews ATL Chapter 7. The chapter theme is “You Must Understand the Law of Exposure!” This principle says that we are what we expose ourselves to. In fact, Rob is so bold as to say the difference between where you are right now and where you will be boils down to:
The books you read
Podcasts and audio learning materials you immerse yourself in
The sermons you attend
Seminars and webinars you participate in
The people you meet and surround yourself with
We all have the same 24 hours a day and seven days per week. So choose wisely what you expose yourself to during that time!
Rob reviews the many ways he has lived the Law of Exposure, including the following:
The mentors who have taught him the most important lessons in his life
Richard Broadwater, Rob’s former employer, hired him as a homeless man. Richard helped him realize his first big goal of owning his own auto repair shop.
Dave Lindall helped Rob’s health journey, inspiring him to run marathons; Dave also encouraged Rob and Claudia to grow their real estate business and take on new investors.
Books have made a huge influence in his journey. This includes strengthening his faith, improving his health, and bolstering his financial literacy.
The book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki jumpstarted Rob’s wealth journey investing in real estate. Two years after reading this book, Rob had applied the knowledge enough to earn a prestigious award.
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren made a huge difference in Rob’s walk with God. After he became sober, Rob learned the purposes all Christians have in life and began applying them.
When you want to be more like a great teacher, subscribing to their podcast is an easy way to absorb their knowledge on the go.
Phone Apps (both paid and free) make Rob’s daily learning and regular tasks easier.
The YouVersion Bible App and Audible offer audio features to listen on the go.
Law Of Exposure: Continuous Learning Makes All The Difference
Being a continuous learner is of the utmost importance. Remember: Exposure, Exposure, Exposure creates Belief. Then, the actions you take in response to those beliefs enhance your life.

"Addicted to Life" Chapter 6 Review - You Won’t Always Feel Like You’re Winning!
In this fresh webinar, Rob reviews Addicted To Life! Chapter 6. The theme of this chapter is “You Won’t Always Feel Like You’re Winning!” In any worthwhile endeavor, you put the work in and you wait for the results. It won’t always seem like you’re making progress! The key is riding out the storm and knowing the wins are coming.
Don’t Feel Like You’re Winning? Just Keep Pressing On!
Rob tells the story of finalizing his very first auto repair shop purchase. After Rob’s initial progress of getting off of drugs and moving up the ranks in an auto repair shop, he came to a crossroads.
His dad encouraged him to move to California and start his first business. It wasn’t easy for Rob to tell his boss Richard Broadwater. After all, Richard had mentored him for years, and even bought him his first set of teeth! Richard expected this talk since Rob had followed his teachings so closely. He gave him his blessing.
It wasn’t all wins from there. Rob and Claudia loaded up the moving van for San Diego, without selling their house. They did this to avoid a prepayment fee. Suddenly, the seller had changed some of the terms of sale. After hours of tense negotiations, the Rowsells reached an agreement. However, there was more conflict to come in this story.
Spouses Working Together
Soon, Rob and Claudia started butting heads. Even these two lovebirds needed a break from each other when forced to work 10-12 hour days together in close quarters. This new business venture put some major stress on them, and brought to light unresolved issues.
Their pastor recommended church-sponsored counseling, which they agreed to. Rob especially didn’t feel like he was winning in these early sessions. Nobody is comfortable sharing their darkest marital conflicts with a stranger. However, they pressed on, and it literally saved their marriage.
They continued the daily process of strengthening their commitment through marriage retreats, books, and group Bible studies. Perhaps most important of all, God placed a married couple in the Rowsells’ lives that prepared them for their next steps.
Four Seasons Of Life
He then discusses the concept of Four Seasons of Life: Winter, Summer, Spring, and the harvest in Autumn. These seasons apply to all areas of life, from our relationships to our money situations.
Some Winter seasons can last longer than we’d prefer, especially if we caused them. These periods of pain and uncertainty are inevitable, but they won’t last forever! Spring is coming to renew our circumstances and outlook.
Often, Spring starts slowly, but these seasons are your chance to begin anew and plant seeds for your future. Make that hay while the sun is shining! God will bring the increase if you put the work into the important areas of your life.
When Summer comes and things slow down, appreciate it. Rest, relax, and spend time with your loved ones.
You can’t reap the rewards of the harvest if you don’t plan the seeds, water them, and wait. The harvest will come in the fall if we plant the seeds in the Spring, and keep working toward it. Don’t apologize for the fruits of your harvest. You should instead humbly thank God for them!
A Winning Conclusion
You won’t always feel like you’re winning when you’re winning. You will experience your fair share of pain and victory in your life’s journey.

"Addicted to Life" Chapter 5 Review - You Must Be Open to the Unexpected!
Fresh knowledge incoming! In this Addicted To Life! chapter review webinar, Rob talks about being open to the unexpected. This was a key component in his success journey, as he outlined in Chapter 5.
What Does “Being Open To The Unexpected” Mean?
After a quick review of the main ideas of Chapters 1 – 8, Rob unpacks the concept of Chapter 5, “Be Open To The Unexpected”. He has found that the biggest opportunities are often the least expected ones, and come from seemingly unlikely sources. How can we apply this principle to our lives as we rise above our current stations?
Don’t waste your gifts and your talents, just to stay where you are in life.
Rob looks back at the point where he was clean and sober, and probation was in his rear view. What if he had decided that was good enough? Maybe in an alternate universe, he decided that improving his situation further wasn’t worth the extra effort? Thank God he didn’t make that choice! Think of how many people Rob has impacted because he recognized The Lord had much more in store for him!
At that point, Rob was comfortable. He did not expect it when his dad told him that he needed to move to California and open his first business. This unexpected opportunity started a long journey of continual self improvement.
